1. You can watch your amateur videos. Perhaps your grandmother or some of your pals were not there during your wedding, but you still want them to experience the moment anyway. You may even want them to laugh out hard too with all the bloopers. You can just turn on the TV and attach your camcorder to it. If you have already converted the video to DVD, you can play it on your player. All together, you can relive that happy time. What's more, you can copy your file into a DVD and give it away to your guests as souvenirs. Surely, they do not have one but would like to own one.
2. Catch up on reruns. All your well-loved programs may have long been gone?Frineds, ER, and even Pushing Daisies. But, hey, thanks to TiVo, you can wash those anxieties away. If you have been using it properly, you may have recorded all the episodes of the programs. You can then all your friends and even family on a Friday night, so all of you can watch the reruns. There is also a good chance that someone among the bunch has missed an episode or two. It will also make you feel glad once he or she shrieks in delight. It is also a good way of spending your weekend. You only need to spend on popcorns and some drinks. You can also have an excuse to have sleepovers.
3. You can set up a film festival. If you are surrounded with movie critics, then your home entertainment system can be such a huge help. All of you can then pitch in a film that you want to review. With the surround sound and HD reception, it is like you guys have been watching all those great movies in theater. You can also have the chance to pause and replay certain parts of the film, if someone wishes to prove his or her point.
To make the event feel more like a festival and real fun, hand out invitations and passes. Those who do not have one will never gain entry, of course. Do not forget to come up with a program and hand out a copy to all participants. It is also important that somebody is in charge for documentation.
4. Set up a mini concert. Definitely, you and your friends have been dreaming of becoming rock or pop stars. The only problem is that your personality does not suit one. Worse, you do not have a good singing voice. Nevertheless, all of you can still bring out your inner Steve Tyler or Carrie Underwood through your entertainment home system. You can plug in a microphone and play on an instrumental CD. You can also purchase PSP Rockstar and bang your head to all the cool music that you have learned to love all these years. You can also make it more exciting by converting your living room into a mini concert hall. Have a platform or a good space where the performer can sing and dance. You can even stage your own American Idol by having at least 5 of your friends compete with one another. Just make sure that you can have your own version of Paula, Randy, and Simon.
5. Keep yourself fit. You no longer have to go to the gym and spend your money on monthly membership fees. You can buy a Wii Fit, and use your TV to display the various physical games that you can do alone or with your family and friends. Dance Revo is still in, and all you need to do is to buy the pad.
